Chef Fred Manion Meet the Chef
Many people know Chef Fred Manion from enjoying his wonderful creations at Lennie’s for the past seven years.

He has been the creative force behind the menu at Lennie’s and we'd like to tell you a little bit more about him.

After graduating from IU in 1982 with a degree in marketing, Fred began to work in the restaurant industry. He had always loved to cook because, as he says, “You get an immediate response to your work. It either tastes good or it doesn’t.” He decided to get the best possible background for a career in restaurants by attending the Culinary Institute of America.

He studied for two years at the Institute and graduated in 1987. After working as an Executive Chef at various locations in Indianapolis, Fred renewed his friendship with One World owners Jeff Mease and Lennie Dare (who had lived in his dorm at IU.) He decided to return to Bloomington and work with them at Lennie’s.

Fred enjoys working with One World because of the opportunity to be creative and make an impact. “One World is willing to develop various concepts, instead of repeating the same thing,” he says.

As long as Fred keeps coming up with new, distinctive and delicious dishes, we’ll keep enjoying them. Thank you, Fred!
