Quarrymen Pale Ale A well-defined hop flavor and aroma distinguish this classic beer. American-Style Pale Ales are among this country’s most distinctive brews; few beer drinkers can pass up the flowery, slightly dry yet full-bodied flavor of such popular brands as Anchor Liberty and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. To create our Quarrymen Pale Ale, we start with London ale yeast. Its slightly mineral character is countered by a larger proportion of hops than some popular American-style pale ales utilize. Pitching rate is also a factor in the final hop flavor and aroma. We use Schrier pale malt and crystal malt; and the hops are all Cascade with Nugget used for bittering. As ever, we do not filter the beer. The Quarrymen Pale Ale is a dry hopped beer with a lowered carbonation level, which seems to accent the hop flavor.
