Behind our bartender, you can see our selection of fine wines. But note that you don't see any "hard" liquor. Indiana limits the number of 3-way licenses (beer/wine/spirits) per municipality. Because of demand, full licenses can be very expensive: $50,000 to $75,000 when purchased on the open market. The price is some what more reasonable once per decade, when the State allocates more licenses based on the growth found from the US Census.

Another thing you might notice is the clean air. We are one of the only non-smoking, beer-and-wine-only bars in Bloomington. While many originally balked at the idea of a smoke-free drinking establishment, the decision to go against the grain has been a profitable one. The market we draw from tends to be older and appreciates the lack of smoke. Those who do smoke tend to grumble a bit; but the entire Municipality has gone smokeless, thanks to our Health Department (with the exception of a few businesses that were grandfathered).
